Culham Storage is a battery energy storage system, which will provide critical grid balancing support, to manage the increase of renewable generation in the country. It’s strategic location adjacent to the neighbouring Culham Campus will provide direct support the to the Campus’s growing ambition to being a world leading hub in science and technology.

Culham Storage has been designed in collaboration with UK Atomic Energy Authority and National Grid.

Culham Storage is being appealed and will be subject to Inquiry by the Planning Inspectorate under appeal reference APP/Q3115/W/24/3358132. The planning inquiry dates are scheduled for the 10th June – 17th June 2025. Details of which can be found via the Planning Inspectorate website.
